Christopher Empson

Chris-2024-webAttorney Christopher Empson brings a deep understanding of workplace dynamics and employee rights as he helps his clients achieve justice.

As a member of Halunen Law’s employment team, Chris finds great satisfaction in applying his understanding of workplace dynamics to real-world employment situations and researching the
applicable law. Most gratifying is knowing that he is helping others navigate the legal system. Observing “we spend at least half of our waking life at work,” Chris relishes working on a team that gives a voice to and achieves justice for those who have experienced illegal actions in their
workplace.

It was the “Psychology in the Workplace” course at the University of Minnesota that changed Chris’s career trajectory. Originally an economics major, he found industrial and organizational psychology and workplace dynamics particularly compelling. He enjoyed studying the inner workings of companies and the role that legal protections played for workers. These insights and a strong desire to make a difference in people’s lives motivated him to pursue employment law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

A native of Illinois, Chris has adopted the Twin Cities as his new home. He likes the seasonal changes and outdoor activities the area offers, including disk golf. When not busy with work, he enjoys spending time with friends and exploring new dining spots around town.
