Born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Wadena, Minnesota, Troy attended college in a small town, then set out for the Twin Cities to explore career opportunities. He worked in the insurance industry, medical data collection, and the retail sector, achieving increased responsibility and success along the way. He excelled in management roles and found his stride and passion when he moved into human resources. He proved to have an adept ability to navigate negotiations between company interests and employee needs, ensuring all parties find satisfaction with the outcomes. Troy brings his expertise to Halunen as he manages projects to ensure smooth operations and oversees human resources. For Troy, work is about more than just a job. He was drawn to Halunen because of the firm’s reputation for giving a voice and path of legal recourse to employees who experience illegal actions in their workplace. He also values Halunen’s history of advocacy for LGBTQ rights, and its supportive environment encouraging staff and attorneys to be their authentic selves. Outside of work, Troy spends time at the gym, keeping himself in shape physically and mentally. He and his partner enjoy spending time with family members and his two grown children. They also love to travel. Even through the pandemic, they traveled worldwide in their shared pursuit of gaining premier status on Delta Airlines someday soon.
