Attorney Profile: Phillip M. Kitzer

Phillip M. Kitzer litigates individual employment cases and is a member of the team handling False Claims Act or qui tam cases. His recent successes include second-chairing a successful trial establishing workers’ compensation retaliation based on threatened discharge.  He has defeated summary judgment in individual employment cases against employers such as Met Life, M & I Bank, and Anderson Windows, and has contributed to a successful appeal reversing a judgment in favor of U.S. Steel.

Mr. Kitzer is the Vice President of the Minnesota chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).

Mr. Kitzer graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School where he was a managing editor for the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology and a participant in the Duberstein Moot Court competition. During law school, Mr. Kitzer clerked for Halunen & Associates, gaining extensive experience in employment litigation, including discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower actions, and wage and hour violations.
