Jacob Frey brings to Halunen & Associates a passion for serving the underrepresented and those treated unfairly, both in the courtroom and in the Twin Cities community. A cum laude graduate of Villanova School of Law, Jacob focuses on individual and class employment cases, including discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower actions, and wage and hour violations. He previously was a trial lawyer at a large law firm where he became familiar with the workings of fortune 500 companies and also represented death row inmates and tenants facing homelessness. He has successfully litigated complex, high dollar cases and has achieved positive results for clients against formidable opponents.
Jacob also is a proven community organizer. He has represented tenants that were losing their homes following the North Minneapolis Tornado, he organized the Big Gay Race (which mobilized over 2,000 people and raised over $30,000 to support marriage equality), and he routinely testifies at the State Capitol in opposition to dangerous gun laws.
As a former professional distance runner, and member of Team USA, Jacob brings a tremendous work ethic to his practice, as well as an understanding of the desire and perseverance necessary to be a successful trial lawyer.
